Who We Are

Akwamfon Sustainable Community Association (ASCA) is a membership based non-governmental charitable organization which was formed and firstly registered in 2003 with the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Youth and Sports, and in 2010 with the Corporate Affairs Commission. Membership of Akwamfon includes youths, adults and corporate bodies.

Our Profile in Brief

  • It is the strong belief of ASCA that a sustainable charitable non-profit organization should rely as much as possible on volunteers and basic but adequate operational base that enables it to continue to be relevant in little but significant ways to its target beneficiaries without overly depending on outside help and money.
  • Since 2003 we have partnered with other organizations in various ways in our core focus areas of basic education, agriculture, public finance management and WASH, which us consequent on our strength in identifying and networking with both National and International organizations to develop and implement initiatives that meet the needs of its target groups.
  • ASCA has strong experience in managing complex donor projects, stakeholder engagement, policy development and review, community mobilization and capacity development among others.
